Darrell Slocum was raised in Tuolumne County and attended Summerville Elementary and Sonora High School. After graduating from California State University Hayward a career in business management culminated in managing the corporate accounts program for a global distribution company. Darrell then returned to Tuolumne County and was the long time marketing director for Golden State Cellular (now Verizon Wireless). During this time, Darrell was an early adopter of social media and shared that knowledge with local businesses and non-profits by conducting training classes and workshops. He has served on numerous boards and committees including the civic advisory board for Sonora Regional Medical Center and the Tuolumne County Business Council.
Darrell has two sons, a daughter and four grandchildren. His wife, Kristine, is a self employed economist. Free time is spent hitting the trails including Dragoon Gulch, Westside and the loop around Pinecrest Lake.
