Sonora Area Foundation Announces $20,000 Grant to the Columbia College Foundation for the Promise Scholarship

On May 24th, at a reception honoring retiring President Angela Fairchilds, representatives of Sonora Area Foundation presented a check for $20,000 to Dr. Fairchilds in support of the Promise Scholarship being offered for the first time to graduates of Tuolumne County high schools. The grant was comprised of contributions from several Sonora Area Foundation donor funds including: The Black Oak Casino Resort Community Fund, Comazzi Family Fund, Comcast Community Fund, McMillen Jacobs Associates Community Fund, Boyd Family Fund, Geer Family Fund, and Reb and Susan Silay Fund, as well as community donors including Sonora Sunrise Rotary. All were matched by a $10,000 donation from an anonymous donor.
