Carrie M. McKernan is a partner with Gianelli Friedman Jeffires McKernan, a law firm serving multi generations for over 50 years. Carrie has a diverse background spanning real estate development, public service, and law. She earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration in 2004, followed by obtaining her J.D. in law, passing the California State Bar on her first attempt in 2016. Carrie has also demonstrated strong community leadership, serving on nonprofit boards including Sierra Repertory Theatre and Mother Lode Christian School, and contributing to numerous local organizations.
Born in Reno, Nevada, Carrie has deep roots in Tuolumne County, where she has lived since childhood and ultimately returned to raise her family. She has been married to her husband, Joshua, for over three decades, and together they have two adult sons. Carrie enjoys an active lifestyle that includes hiking, paddleboarding, traveling, and spending time with her family. She values perseverance, integrity, and strong relationships, and hopes to model these principles as part of her legacy.
