Born in Modesto, California into a Navy family, Brandon Meyer grew up in California, Japan, and Virginia, but eventually moved to Tuolumne County and graduated from Sonora High School. Afterwards, Brandon spent time in San Diego where he helped teenage foster youth prepare to age out of the foster care system. After moving back to the area in 2005, Brandon served as a social worker for local Native American families. In 2010, Brandon completed his Juris Doctor and has been a practicing attorney since.

Brandon has served on various local boards and committees, including past member and president of the Sonora Elementary School Board of Trustees. Brandon also currently serves as a board member of the Youth Sports Foundation of Tuolumne County. Brandon and his wife Jolene have 2 children. They like to spend their time outdoors and traveling and all are very passionate about youth sports and community service.
