Career Technical Education (CTE)
Train for Success
Secure Job Skills
Boost Local Economy
What is CTE?
In recent years, the demand for skilled tradespeople has increased and expanded. Not only are the traditional apprenticeship jobs such as in the construction trades needed, but so are mechanics, computer services, agriculture, hospitality, culinary arts, and so much more. By providing students with hands-on training and industry certifications, CTE programs equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in high-demand careers.
The job market is rapidly changing, as businesses seek skilled tradespeople, we face a shortage of trained workers ready to meet this demand.
Sonora Area Foundation’s Role
Our mission is championing Career Technical Education (CTE) by inspiring students, families, and educators to recognize the value of CTE in education and career potential, connecting individuals to high-quality programs that offer hands-on skills and real-world experience, and develop community partnerships that will align and enhance offerings with local industry needs while being consistent with future job demands.
