Irving J. Symons Foundation Award

Congratulations to Interfaith and the Not My Kid group for receiving the Irving J. Symons Foundation Award.

Interfaith provides food, clothing and personal services to more than 700 Tuolumne County families every month. The award includes a $50,000 grant for the positive impact Interfaith has provided to our community.

 

The Not My Kid group was recognized for calling attention to the important issue of youth mental health in Tuolumne County, while providing help and guidance to parents and guardians. The $40,000 grant will be shared with the various Not My Kid organizations to continue supporting youth mental health programs.

Elaine Symons Baker Community Impact Award

Congratulations to Tuolumne Community Collaborative Construction Pre-Apprentice Training Program and Southside Community Connections for receiving the Elaine Symons Baker Community Impact Award.

Tuolumne Community Collaborative Construction Pre-Apprentice Training Program is a seven-week, full time construction training and career readiness program. This program was designed to train local community members and to assist with direct entry into the union and local contractors. This program was awarded $10,000 to continue supporting local trades job opportunities.

Southside Community Connections continues to provide different programs and services to community seniors. The SCC mission is to provide health, recreation, social interaction and lifelong learning experiences in a multi-generational setting to benefit active adults. They were awarded $10,000 to continue providing effective and useful programs.
